No Mascara Neccesary

One of the technicians at work brought in another beetle for me to ID. She'll be pleased to learn, hopefully, that it's the same species that appeared in the apparently defunct wtf_nature group some years back, IIRC, but it was never IDed there

It's a Feather-horned Beetle, of the genus Rhipicera

Very little is known about the Family Rhipiceridae - the only one science has larvae for is from North America, where it's a parasite on cicadas. But they all have fantastic antennae. ( TOLweb photo here - close-up by Su, here )
